Things To Do Whilst Rendering (Updated)

Rendering is the bane of any video editor’s existence. Whether you are working on Final Cut Pro 7 or X, Avid, Premiere, etc… you will undoubtably spend what feels like a lifetime watching a little progress bar creep towards the finish line.

So I ask… What can one do while rendering?

I love the ‘Invade Russia’ one – from where I am I can see ……..

Although I suspect Carlos is a lot closer to what most (male) editors would do, certainly those I have worked with anyway.

Personally, I go and play with my Daughter if I am at home or catch up on the newspapers/window shop if I am in the office.

While it renders I have a lunch or maybe dinner. The software I use simply renders when I want…I can edit all morning, then go to lunch and put it rendering , after an hour it had rendered more than two hours of HD video….Thanks
