Shoppers Trust Online Video Production

People trust online videos. None of the statistics surrounding the rise of online marketing videos would matter if people didn’t trust these creative video productions to entertain and accurately inform. Yet… people do! This is reflected not only in the incredible increase in the conversion rate which accompanies including video production on product pages (85% (Internet Retailer, 2010) but also by a less generalized and more honed metrics.

Let’s take a moment to put online video production and online videos in the spotlight and ascertain how they can be used to increase your business.

More Than Ever, People Are Watching Advertisements Online

Over 90% of all people who shop online considered online demonstrations and advertisements helpful in choosing what products they eventually purchased (Internet Retailer, October 2010).

The overall number of videos online is on the increase as is the total number of people who watch video online and the total amount of time those people spend watching online videos. This excerpt from Tim Aherm is very compelling;

“More importantly for this discussion a study by CISCO found the number of people watching videos on retail websites increased at a faster rate than the number of people watching videos online in general. In the U.S. the number of people watching general online videos increased by about 17% while the number of people watching videos on retail websites increased by 40%.”

Online shoppers are axiomatically learning about products from / making purchasing decisions based on online videos. Also, they are doing so at an exponentially increasing rate.

High Quality Online Shoppers Prefer Video Advertisements

A huge 41% of all high-income bracket (wealthy) online shoppers reported that they were much more likely to take some sort of positive action after experiencing either a search or video based advertisement (eMarketer magazine in August of 2011).

Wow.

Impressive right? Even more astounding when you consider that you are not only attracting as many customers as possible also attracting customers of the highest quality. I think stinking-filthy-rich is generally considered to be high quality.
